Review for week of March 1

3/1 - 2 Miles Easy

2 miles, 20 minutes, whichever comes second, that's how far/long I run. It's definitely warmer out, but still pretty gray. At least snow is melting from the path and the roads. Temperature was 34 degrees with NW wind at 7 mph. Ran to park and took the bike path north. Passed Jim on his way back. I kind of had a lot on my mind, so the running was almost automatic. Pace was a bit fast.

Total Distance - 2.45 mi; Time - 20:34; Pace - 8:24

3/2 - Run with Travis

My run schedule had today listed as a 4 mile tempo run for a total 6 mile distance, but I didn't think I'd have time to do it. 5 miles on my lunch break is pushing it for time already, and I got a late start on running. Then I ran into Travis in our "locker room" and decided we would run together. He hadn't run in forever, so I figured an easy 2 or 3 miles would work. It was cooler out than yesterday at 27 degrees and wind NNE at 12 mph.

We started out not too bad running to Kyle Park for just over 2 miles. As usual we started out too fast, but I was able to reign Travis back. We talked about his knee and taking shorter strides and other things. His knee did start hurting, so we walked for a little bit. Then he thought he could run, but after less than 2 minutes he decided that he couldn't. I walked with him for another 5 minutes and then finished out the run. I felt bad, but he claimed it was his fault for trying too much too soon. I told him to find a specific program for resting and strengthening his knee and then getting back into running very slowly.

Total Distance - 3.06 mi; Time - 27:32; Avg Pace - 9:00

3/3 - 3 Mile Treadmill Run

Since yesterday didn't cover the scheduled 6 miles, I got up early and ran 3 miles on the treadmill at the gym. I actually remembered to bering my mp3 player, so I could tune into the TV sound and listen to the TV. Nothing else significant. Got the miles in.

Total Distance - 3.03 mi; Time - 28:00; Pace - 9:14

3/4 - 3 Mile Run

I got started a little late, but not too late. Ran out to Kyle Park by the roads in town. It was really nice and sunny out. Temperatures were warmer at 32 degrees and a slight wind from NW at 9 mph. Due to the time, I cut my route shorter by cutting out the parking lot route. It was a decent run and nice to get out in the sun and warmer weather! Oh, and I guess I ran faster than usual. Almost like a tempo without the warm up and cool down.

Total Distance - 3.10 mi; Time - 25:16; Pace - 8:09
