First Tempo in a while

Ok, there's a story behind this run, but do I have time to get into it? Well, planned on dropping off the car about a mile and a half from home. Then mapped out my run: a 1-ish mile warm up, a 3-ish mile tempo, then a cool down. Then I drove all the way to the garage to find that they didn't have any drop off type of paperwork. Wow. So I drove back home and decided to do my "normal" warm up and tempo, which I hadn't done in over a year.

It was great weather for running. 55 degrees out with a slight 3 mph wind from NNW. That first warm up mile got me warm enough that I had to stop back at the house for a pit stop. Then came the tempo part which was interesting because I've never really done it without GPS before. It really didn't turn out too bad. I found that I could get myself "into a groove" and just keep going. It was also kind of neat to run with the sun gradually rising. Yup, felt good to get those miles in early on the last day of the month.

Total Distance - 5.55 mi
Warm up Distance - 1.21 mi; Time - 11:39; Pace - 9:38
Tempo Distance = 3.02 mi; Time - 25:42; Pace - 8:31
Cool down Distance - 1.32 mi; Time - 13:09; Pace - 9:58
