catching up again

Well, it was a wonderful weekend with the family. Oh wait before that ... Katie made the volleyball team! We are so happy for her! True, she's not running cross country anymore; but she'll be running plenty with volleyball. Heck, who does running just to run anyway, at least when they are still in jr high.

Saturday, the plan was a 4 mile run with Tony in Indianapolis. Well, the time+distance watch once again didn't lock onto an Indianapolis satellite, so we just winged it. Ran down to the canal and then all along the length down and back. It was a really cool run. Weather-wise, yes, it was cool. But the location and stuff around it was just really neat! Indianapolis is one awesome city. Wow. But after mapping out the run later on, it turns out that we only ran 3.6 miles. We did it in 32:58 for a pace of 9:09, but alas, it was a little bit short.

Today was a really easy run with no warm up walk with Charlie. I'll pick him up tonight, so we'll walk tomorrow morning. Anyway, the run was 2.13 miles in 18:37 for a pace of 8:44. Wednesday promises to be tough with speedwork and all. Then Thursday turns into an easy 2 miler while Saturday brings out an 8 mile long run.

Oh, and I signed up today for the 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. It was neat talking with Sean about running and the races he has done lately. I am leery that I overestimated my finish time, but talking it over with Tony helped me feel better about it. I do have 8 months to get ready. I think I'll be there, as long as I can keep up the running throughout the winter. Until then, I'll keep plodding on .....
