6 Mile Long Run

Yay! Getting back into the long run groove! Of course, it seems like the only reason it is called a "long run" is because it is longer than 5 miles. Yes, I know, I need to build back up in mileage. Today I started from the church in Fletcher where Krisi's Girl Scout troop meets. I dropped her off and then got ready outside. It wasn't really that cold out today; somewhere I saw a reading of 41 degrees, and afterwards at home the weather.com reading said 42 degrees with winds ESE at 10 MPH. I did notice the wind starting out. So I started out south on Casstown Fletcher road which lasted about 2 miles to the next intersection. Then west on Loy Road for about a mile to Sidney Casstown Road. About midway (headed north), I passed the Garbry Big Woods Sanctuary. Maybe when I need to add miles I can explore in there. Then back to US 36 where it really was evident that it is a major highway (at least out in the country of Ohio). Back at Fletcher I did a little loop and passed under the Fletcher Covered Bridge. Fletcher is really a cute little town, but given the grayness of the weather, there wasn't anybody out. But I got into a groove, successfully kept from getting hit by cars, and feel confident in being able to go 7 miles next week!

Total Distance - 6.24 mi; Time - 56:76; Pace - 9:04
