running in Point Pleasant, WV

A couple of days visiting the old homestead, and a couple of days of running in the home town. It's quite different from the "big city" of Troy, OH. No, I know that Troy is not the big city. But compared to Point Pleasant, it's metropolitan. The very fact that one has to run multiple back and forth routes just to make more than 5 miles in Point Pleasant says something about the size.

So Friday morning, got out at about 6:30am and it was already 73 degrees out with a very slight SSW wind of 2mph. I ran the simple Mt Vernon loop which is just under 2 miles total. It got warm really quick, so I was thinking that I'd run earlier the next morning. Well, you'll see that didn't happen.

Friday run:
Distance - 1.90 mi; Time - 17:08; Pace - 9:01

Friday night didn't go as planned, so waking up Saturday morning wasn't as early as previously planned. It was about 8:15 by the time I got started, and I don't know what the temperature was, but it was warm. I think by the time I finished it was about 83 degrees. I ended up running downtown by the mothman and back by the floodwall. It got really really warm, so I cut it a bit short, though I walked back by almost a mile. It was a hot weekend. I know, it's not the desert. But it felt hot to me, and it was affecting me.

Saturday run:
Distance - 4.75 mi; Time - 46:18; Pace - 9:45
