2/4 - 3 Mile Easy Run

Last night (Wednesday) we ate at church. It was "Loaded Baked Potato" night, but by the time we got there they were out of potatoes. But there were hot dogs, and I loaded them up as much as I could with chili and cheese. No, I skipped the sour cream. So that and two cookies was what I had. Rest last night equalled less than 5 hours. Yeah, getting up was kind of rough! This morning ate a grapefruit and superbowl oatmeal. You start to notice a trend in breakfasts. Not much variety because I like the same thing. And it's easy to fix. Morning snack was a pre-packaged cup of gelatin with mandarin orange slices.

No one else ran with me today. It was pretty chilly out, but definitely not anywhere near the coldest that it has been. The temperature was 32 degrees, and the wind coming from ESE at 9 MPH was definitely noticeable on my way out to Kyle Park. It was quite overcast, and the feel in the air was that it wasn't going to get any warmer and that wintry weather really is on its way here. Of course, my opinion was pretty slanted based on all the reports of the 6 inches of snow we are supposed to have from tomorrow into Saturday. It will just make Saturday's 7 mile run that much more interesting!

Anyway, it was an easy run, and I concentrated on keeping my pace under control. I tried something different by not looking at my pace regularly like I usually do. In fact, I changed the display over to distance instead of pace. I tried to keep a steady kind of cadence with my feet. I thought about how long it would take to complete a marathon at a steady 9 minute pace. Of course, then I thought about how 4 hours is an awfully long time to continue running non-stop! I dunno, I've survived just under 2 hours of running. Someday, I'll have to give it a try!

Total Distance - 3.10 mi; Time - 28:27; Pace - 9:11
